green fingers

woke up to another beautiful sunny day so today was spent outside giving the garden a bit of tlc with a spring clean!
a full day of sewing seeds, planting up & weeding flower beds.
gardening is one of those jobs which i don't like the thought of starting but once i get going it becomes rather enjoyable. tiring but well worth it.
fab to sit under the parasol at the end of the day and see how much better it all looks. don't get me wrong it's not quite like this garden down the road ;)
{oh how i wish!} - there's still heaps to do!

inspired by my regular garden visitor;
new woodpecker linocuts

something rather different to the brightly coloured florals your used to seeing here on my blog & in my shops.
two new bird linocut designs of a green woodpecker & a great spotted woodpecker. handprinted in black water based ink.
i have printed these onto fabric too with a splash of colour but it's good to see them looking super bold in black ink.

i'm feeling a bird series coming on...

the new woodpecker prints can be found here.

hanmade & BareBlooms

the lovely chloe of BareBlooms grows beautiful, local & seasonal cut flowers for all occasions.
living not so very far from one another; just down the road in fact!
chloe came up with a wonderful idea in which our love of florals could work together.

chloe's knowledge & interest in growing flowers sparked an idea of putting together a collection of seed kits with five different flower varieties to choose from.
each kit includes a few
additional gardening extra's to kick start your very own, easy to grow cutting garden.

as you've probably guessed from the above pictures, designing & printing the seed kits was hanmade's job ;)

i thoroughly enjoyed designing and creating the artwork for the seed kits as it was so fun and refreshing to work with somebody for a change & to be able to share ideas.

the new cut~flower seed kits will be available at the local farmers market this coming weekend in presteigne and the web very soon!

BareBlooms website & facebook page can be found here and here.
